Company History

The Gemini Saw Co started with a 10 X 10 foot shed and an idea. What was needed was a saw designed specifically for people who needed, probably more than anyone, the ability, to cut intricate shapes. They were the stained glass people. The idea was if you could remove the axle from a wheel and get it out of the way then you could use the whole wheel, inside included. This idea came from founder and president of Gemini Saw Co Inc., Jesse Cogswell who was himself a stained glass artist for over 15 years. After much struggle and many prototypes the idea was patented and serious production began.

The company took off from that point selling saws all over the world. Great leaps in technological engineering created opportunities for more affordable more efficient less expensive saws to be built. The company began to expand into different industries such as lapidary, tile and stone contractors and yes still stained glass enthusiasts as well as mosaic artists and many others.

Gemini moved from a shed to a garage, and then to a house, and then to a 1250 square foot industrial building and ultimately where it is now. Utilizing a 4600 square foot facility Gemini is dedicated to making saws for intricate cutting all over the world. Gemini Saw Co Inc. owns many patents and specializes in attention to detail and quality in all of the products it manufactures.

Expansion into the Rental Business

The Gemini Saw Co is also a vendor for the rental business specializing in "Ring Saw" technology. The product they recommend as an addition to the rental business is the: Revolution XT tile saw. Gemini Saw Co Inc. had its beginnings back in 1989 utilizing a 10 X 10 foot gardener shed located in the rear of a horse coral. With the high tech addition of a 150 foot extension cord and a new roof Gemini Saw Co. was born. Drive belts were ground and draped over the coral fence for the in depth quality control inspection of the neighboring horse.

Gemini moved from a shed to a garage, and then to a house, and then to a 1250 square foot industrial building and ultimately where it is now. Utilizing a 9000 square foot facility Gemini is dedicated to making saws for intricate cutting all over the world.

The original idea of the ring saw was to satisfy the needs of stained glass craftsmen to cut intricate shapes in glass. Necessity is the mother of invention. Jesse Cogswell was in a mother son stained glass business for 14 yrs, selling creating, repairing, and installing stained glass windows. Mary Cogswell, Jesse's mother (an artist), designed impossible shapes for glass. Cutting such shapes created the need for the ring saw. Tile professionals demanded bigger and better saws over time for cutting around drains, toilets, and pillars and ultimately the creation of the "REVOLUTION XT", tile saw.

After 10 years of pushing the company took off over night and now sells saws all over the world. Great leaps in technological engineering created opportunities for more affordable more efficient less expensive saws to be built. The company began to expand into different industries such as lapidary, tile and stone contractors and now, with the help of Jack McGinnis of Meridian Pacific Sales, they are demonstrating the "Revolution XT"tile saw into the rental industry with great success.
